“Bad Boys: Ride or Die” grossed $10 million at the domestic box office this weekend, bringing its total to $165 million and keeping it in the top five. The film has also earned $166 million from overseas markets, totaling $332 million globally. “Bad Boys: Ride or Die” remains the second-highest-grossing installment in the action-comedy franchise’s history.
The previous franchise movie, ‘Bad Boys for Life’ narrowly avoided shutdown due to the early 2020 pandemic, completing most of its box office run before global lockdowns halted everything. The film earned $200 million domestically and approximately $425 million worldwide, against a reported budget of $90 million. Bad Boys: Ride or Die, with a reported budget of $100 million, marks Smith’s first theatrical release since his notorious incident with Chris Rock at the Oscars a couple of years ago. Although his status was uncertain when he starred in the award-aspiring drama Emancipation in 2022, audiences worldwide have warmly welcomed him back this year.
