A civil lawsuit accusing Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter and Sean “Diddy” Combs of raping a 13-year-old girl in 2000 has been voluntarily dismissed by the plaintiff. The accuser, identified as Jane Doe, filed a notice in Manhattan federal court stating the case is dismissed with prejudice, preventing future refiling.

Jay-Z responded to the dismissal by calling it “a victory.” In a statement posted by his entertainment company, Roc Nation, he said: “The frivolous, fictitious, and appalling allegations have been dismissed. This civil suit was without merit and never going anywhere.” He also expressed concern for the impact on his family, stating: “The trauma that my wife, my children, my loved ones, and I have endured can never be dismissed.”

Combs’ legal team also welcomed the lawsuit’s dismissal, suggesting it undermines the credibility of other claims against him. Combs is currently awaiting a criminal trial on racketeering and sex trafficking charges, while facing numerous other civil lawsuits alleging sexual misconduct.

The plaintiff’s attorney, Tony Buzbee, who represents multiple clients in cases against Combs, declined to comment on the dismissal.

This development highlights the challenges public figures face when confronting serious allegations and underscores the importance of due process in such cases.
