Born to a Jamaican mother and American father—both certified ski instructors—the Rivers siblings grew up on skis before they could even tie their own boots. What started as playful weekends on the slopes soon evolved into a passion that now fuels a shared Olympic dream.

Their father, Henri Rivers III, is also a respected figure in ski culture as the president of the National Brotherhood of Skiers, an organization dedicated to increasing diversity in winter sports. Under his guidance, the triplets learned early that representation matters as much as performance.

“We’ve been skiing since before we could remember,” Helaina once said. “It’s just part of who we are.”

A creative visionary who wears many hats, Cash Campain is proving that artistry is more than performance — it’s about transformation.

Music With Meaning

Music remains at the core of Cash Campain’s journey. With performances that channel raw emotion and lyrics that cut straight to the heart, he has built a reputation as an artist unafraid to be vulnerable.

“I want my art to make Black men better,” he explained. “To make us more vulnerable, more self-aware, more emotionally intelligent, more open to love and experiences. You don’t always have to be hard. Sometimes you can pour a glass of wine, listen to some R&B, and just chill.”

Cash Campain has worked with a wide range of collaborators across the Bay and beyond, but he still has his sights set on icons like E-40, whose authenticity and staying power inspire him.

On Screen: Reckless Behavior

New Haven’s Black Wall Street Festival Returns Bigger Than Ever

The festival is a joint initiative between The Breed Entertainment—co-founded by New Haven natives Aaron “Y‑A” Rogers and Rashad “Snacks” Johnson—and the City of New Haven, bolstered by local leadership including Mayor Justin Elicker and Thabisa Rich from the Office of Cultural Affairs.

As Downtown Los Angeles (DTLA) slowly reopens after a tense ten days of curfews, arrests, and clashes, city leaders and protesters alike brace for what comes next.

How it started: Raids and outrage

On June 6 and 7, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) launched sweeping raids targeting undocumented workers in Los Angeles’ bustling Fashion District and near several Home Depot parking lots. Witnesses described early morning blockades, on-the-spot checks, and detentions that caught families and workers by surprise. Activists and local union leaders quickly mobilized under the banner of “No Kings Day” — a nod to the city’s growing frustration with federal authority and a rallying cry for immigrant rights.

Within hours, hundreds gathered near the Roybal Federal Building, waving banners that read “Not our king, not our troops!” Protesters clashed with federal agents who deployed tear gas, flash-bangs, and rubber bullets to disperse crowds that refused to back down.

Former NBA star Lamar Odom recently made headlines for his participation in a high-profile cryptocurrency gala hosted by former President Donald Trump. The event, held at Trump’s Virginia golf club, was exclusive to the top 220 investors in Trump’s meme coin, $TRUMP, with attendees reportedly spending a total of $148 million to gain entry. Odom, a notable investor in $TRUMP, used the occasion to promote his own cryptocurrency, $ODOM. 

However, Odom’s appearance at the gala was met with controversy. Protesters outside the event booed and heckled him, expressing disapproval over the perceived ethical concerns surrounding the intertwining of political influence and cryptocurrency ventures. Critics argue that such events blur the lines between public service and personal financial gain. 

In a contrasting move, Odom demonstrated his commitment to social causes by speaking at the Sierra Nevada Job Corps’ (SNJC) graduation ceremony in Reno. The SNJC, a federal program providing vocational training to low-income youth, faces potential closure due to budget cuts proposed by the Trump administration. Odom’s presence aimed to support the program and its graduates during this uncertain time.

Beyond his public appearances, Odom has been actively involved in initiatives addressing addiction and recovery. Having overcome his own struggles with substance abuse, he founded the Odom Recovery Group, a network of treatment centers across Southern California. His children, Lamar Jr. and Destiny, have joined the organization, contributing to marketing and client relations efforts. 

Additionally, Odom has been a vocal advocate for alternative treatments for addiction. He has publicly supported the use of ibogaine, a psychoactive compound, in treating opioid addiction, and has shared his personal experiences to raise awareness and promote research into such therapies.
