On Sunday (March 26), the talented record producer Swizz Beatz posted a picture on Instagram of his beautiful wife, Grammy Award-winning singer Alicia Keys, sitting in the backseat of the new limited-edition Mercedes-Maybach designed by the late Virgil Abloh. Swizz Beatz captained the post with the words, “Keys open doors. Long live @virgilabloh. Gifts from the kids to the queen always.”

The superstar songstress took to her Instagram page to share a video of the unveiling of her special birthday gift from the kids and her husband. Alicia Keys’ reaction to the grand surprise is understandable: she was completely awestruck and exclaimed multiple times, “It’s crazy! The wheels… Boys, thank you. Oh my gosh. Woah.” She gave tribute to Virgil Abloh, writing in her caption, “Maybach Sundays. I finally got to see my [birthday] gift from the kids and my hubby. RIP @virgilabloh this one is a masterpiece woooowwww.” Swizz Beatz and Alicia Keys have been married since 2010 and are parents to two sons, Egypt Daoud Dean, 12, and Genesis Ali Dean, 8.
Lil Baby also recently acquired the iconic black and chrome luxury car and excitedly shared the news with his Instagram followers. “Virgil” Maybach So Sweeeet,” he wrote. According to Dezeen, the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class S680 model was designed in partnership with Mercedes-Benz’s chief design officer Gorden Wagener and unveiled at a car show last December. Only 152 units of the car will be available next month, a memorial to the life of Virgil Abloh, who passed away in November of 2021.
“Virgil was a creative that all of us here at Mercedes-Benz hugely admired,” Wagener shared. “The opportunity to work with him was really to redefine what a fashion and automotive collaboration could look like.”
